On March 22, 2025, in Phu Phong town, Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province, the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province solemnly held the Inauguration Ceremony for Phu Phong Dam Project. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and directed the Ceremony.

Attending the Ceremony, included Mr. Le Hai Binh – Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Trinh Manh Linh, Deputy Head of the Government Office; Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Vo Van Hung, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Hoang Minh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; and representatives of leaders of ministries, departments, branches and central agencies.

On the provincial side, the Ceremony was attended by Mr. Ho Quoc Dung – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the PPC, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Le Kim Toan – Standing Deputy Secretary of PPC, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Pham Anh Tuan – Deputy Secretary of the PPC, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; members of the PPC Standing Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities, etc.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that although the investment capital for Phu Phong dam project is not too large, the project is built very beautifully. This project is of great significance to the socio-economic development of Tay Son district in particular and Binh Dinh province in general. The project will serve many purposes such as providing irrigation water for agricultural production, creating livelihoods for people, contributing to ecological regulation for the whole region. The reservoir is also used for aquaculture and tourism development. In addition, this project also connects traffic, supports power generation and provides underground water for people’s daily life.

Phu Phong dam project started construction on February 15, 2022, in Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province. Construction Joint Stock Company 47 (HOSE: C47) is the leading member of the consortium undertaking the construction of Package No.01-XL: Construction and installation for the entire project. The project has a total investment of more than VND 754 billion, of which the central budget is VND 550 billion, the rest is local budget capital. Phu Phong dam is 590m long, built of reinforced concrete, with NWL at +18.0m. The project ensures irrigation water supply for 465 hectares of agricultural land, meeting the needs of daily life, industrial production, aquaculture, supplementing groundwater sources and improving the ecological environment. In addition, the dam also connects traffic in the area and takes advantage of the water flowing through to generate electricity with capacity of 2.9 MW.

Construction Joint Stock Company 47 is an enterprise with nearly half a century of tradition in the construction sector, especially with outstanding capacity in the construction of irrigation and hydroelectric works. The inauguration of Phu Phong Dam not only contributes to the local socio-economic development but also has special significance when it is completed on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Binh Dinh province (March 31, 1975 – March 31, 2025).
